Lufthansa appoints Wolfgang Will as Director, India

Lufthansa yesterday announced the appointment of Wolfgang Will as its new Director India. Will who took charge from February 1, 2014 will be based at Gurgaon and will be responsible for overseeing the airline’s commercial activities in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

He succeeds Axel Hilgers, who served as Lufthansa’s Director, India since 2008, overseeing the launch of new aircraft like the B747-8 and several new products in the market.

Will joined Lufthansa in 1981 and has since held numerous positions in administration, Human Resources, marketing and sales within the company. Will’s appointment comes at a crucial time when Air India’s entry into Star alliance is hitting turbulence.
